Preferential option for the Poor and Vulnerable
“What does the Lord require of you but to do justice and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God” (Micah 6:8)
Jesus was especially concerned for the poor and vulnerable. When we love the least of our brothers and sisters, we love God.
St. Luke, in writing his Gospel, portrayed Jesus as having special eyes for the outsiders in His society: the poor, the sick, foreigners, sinners, the marginalized. He recognized the unfairness of their suffering.
Thanksgiving is a time to prayerfully reflect upon our affluence and the poverty of so many people in the Walk With Christ: Justice for the Poor Pilgrimage, we raise funds to help the poor in Haiti, the Dominican Republic and Uganda.
